So Cal Broncos Calico 2025

Added to Calendar: 01/17/25, 01/18/25, 01/19/25

I have 3 boxes (file type boxes, not the usual cases) of MRE's and partial MRE's that I can bring to Calico if there is interest. We'd just like them to go to someone who will use them, Free!

Looking at the weather it's going to be breezy and low 60's during the day, right around freezing at night.

Steffie and I would take a few. We're RV camping this trip but we like to keep some MRE's in our truck-camping kit.

i'm in for a few. good to have on hand

Cool! Was wondering if the PM that I got was the only interest. I'll have them with me in Mule Cyn. I expect to get there mid-morning Friday.
I do the same thing, always have a couple of them in the truck, just in case.

SCB FAMILY, I cant believe it's already been almost (04) years since I had these made for BBBBXXX. I found the box with the flags that were left over. I was going to bring them to sell but after hearing of Tom Doran and family's situation (I know they are not the only ones), I know it's not much but I would like to help as I am sure all of us do.

I will bring the flags to Calico. If you can't make it to Calico I can bring it to eTDS or I can mail it to you. You do not need to prove that you donated , its the HONOR SYSTEM. Just contact me which flag you want. The flags are on a first come bases and only have a limited number 15 black and 9 orange.

To make a donation, donate directly to the link from Dustys email (I cut and pasted from his post with the link- Tom's daughter set up a GoFundMe to help all three families out. If anyone would like to help out a family that is part of the So Cal Broncos community that lost their home and everything in it, here's the link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/tiptoe-and-family ) or I will have the flags with me and a box for donations next to them at Calico.

I will be posting this in several posts that already exist as well as facebook so if you see the same thing posted in more than one post.

Thank you in advance for helping one of our SCB FAMILY MEMBERS!

Got to wondering about a camp fire given that it is going to get cold at night. Looked up the BLM's Barstow Field office (https://www.blm.gov/programs/public...gional-info/california/fire-restrictions#NCAL) and found this:
Current restrictions in place:
  • Always have a five-foot circle cleared around your campfire and have a California Campfire Permit.
  • Maintain a five-foot diameter clearance around campfires.
  • Always have a shovel and plenty of water on hand and put your campfire DEAD OUT, before leaving.
  • Never use steel targets, steel jacketed, steel core or incendiary ammunition for recreational shooting as they are more likely to cause a fire.
  • No campfires or recreational target shooting during any Red Flag Warning or Fire Weather Watch.
  • Park vehicles away from areas where exhaust could cause grass or other combustibles to ignite.
  • If you are asked to evacuate, please do so immediately.
San Bernadino County Fire has no warnings: https://sbcfire.org/

Camp Fire permits: https://readyforwildfire.org/permits/

I'd think that would be easing up. Hope it does anyway. We've got friends in NP dealing with the same issues.

Heading out tomorrow o'dark thirty and since my fone doesn't do apps I thought that I would say that if you're planning on one of my trips that we'll be forming up at the very south end of the camp in Mule Canyon with the goal of heading out at 9:00.

For Saturday I suggest that you have a good flashlight for each person in your rig. I do not plan to be out all day, but we'll likely be doing lunch somewhere on the route.

For Sunday you will probably want all of the same, again.

See y'all out there!!

I saw his post on Facebook. How heart breaking is that! But it's great to see the SCB family stepping up.

The only pics that I took were of the water crossing in Afton Cyn.

Sorry I missed it. just felt I needed to stay close to home with so much activity going on in the not so far distant areas. They are still playing with the power & fires. Power went out & a fire kicked off in Simi today. I imagine they will shut us off again Thursday as more wind is expected :sneaky:.
