BBBBXXI - SATURDAY Run List & Signups

Perfect! I have a bunch of waypoints from Trails Off-road that are supposed to be good spots to take in the views. I'll plan on stopping at some/all of them so people can take pictures, and like you said, grab a drink, or something to eat, etc.
LOL, I just had a fun conversation with my wife on the topic of "bathrooms" ... apparently she's not keen on the idea of finding a tree...

We’ll that’s just something that will eventually run it’s course. There’s plenty of opportunity to go for a walk with a shovel and paper in hand. 10/100’s mean beverage time to me! Then it takes a while to get everyone rolling again.

Mark.

Yeah, I have a shovel and TP in the Bronco. However, I think that we will stop at the entrance to Hart Bar campground so if the ladies need a real bathroom they can pop in there. It's right at the beginning of the Coon Creek part of our trip, and right off 38, so it will be the perfect place for us to regroup after coming off 38 and starting Coon Creek trail.

Ok folks, as promised. Here's a Google Maps link to where we will be meeting at 9AM. Once we are all there and ready to go, the first leg of our trip will be to head through town to the 2N27 trailhead. Here's a link to the GPX file that you can import into OnX, GAIGPS, etc. for 2N27. We will continue on 2N27 until we reach 2N93 (Widhorse Meadows) where we will turn south and follow 2N93 (WildHorse Meadows) south until we reach Hwy 38. Here's a link for the Wildhorse trail's GPX file. Once we reach Hwy 38 we will head over to the trailhead for Coon Creek. You can find that on Google Maps here. Coon Creek is normally an up and back trail, but SCB has found an alternative to that which makes it a loop back up to Hwy 38. Here's the GPX file that outlines that route. Once we reach Hwy 38 you can grab that to take you back to Big Bear, or where ever you want to go. I'm considering hitting anther easy trail on the way back. that would, of course, be completely optional of I do decide to do that and I'll let you know what I have in mind a little later if you are interested. My guess is that the First part (2N27 and 2N93) i.e. Wild Horse Meadows will likely take 2-2.5 hours depending on how often we stop to enjoy the views and take pictures. The second trail looks like it's about 1-1.5 hours in length. So, that's a total of 4 hours max. maybe less which could put you back in Big Bear in time for a late lunch if we leave at 9AM. Another option would be to leave a little later, take or time, and stop for a picnic lunch somewhere on the trail. I'm curious about everyone's thoughts on that?
Maybe stop for lunch and take a head count of who's in for a 3rd leg?

What if we want to change what we signed up for?
If you look at the list of run at the top near the bottom of the list there's "change vote" button. If you click on that it will "erase" your current vote, and then you can vote for the new run you prefer.

Hi-Lift….. oh no i just sold mine. 🫢

LOL you'll live longer without that widowmaker onboard!

@elazul66 just make sure your vehicle is in good working order, well maintained, and if you're going to tackle anything above the easy trails just make sure you've got recovery attachment points and a strap, in case you get into a pickle and need a yank. There will be plenty of folks on the run who will have just about anything to deal with anything more serious. But it's a bit of a faux pas to need a yank and when the guy backs up to you to hook on you don't even have your own strap LOL. Also dress in layers and bring a jacket regardless of how nice the weather is when you leave for the run. If you have a 2-way VHF radio, that will come in handy too. We tend to favor those over CB.

ahhh...... the ages old cry of "Boys on the Left! Girls on the Right!"

Top-Tip: Keep the TP inside a zip-lock bag. Keeps perfectly good TP still looking perfectly good. Threw out a few good, but ratty/dirty looking rolls on the orders of SWMBO before I figured that one out.

Should I make it up there Saturday I'm thinking Clark/Radford, but NFC where Bear Mtn is.

Great advice! In general, you want to think about DUST. It get's EVERYWHERE when you're running top down, or even windows down. So I try to keep everything in some kind of sealed container. I'm also a bit OCD when it comes to being organized in case you didn't notice and it makes loading up for a trip a lot easier.

[HIJACK] WHEN you have a cabin air filter running windows up, fan on is a good way to keep the dust out. If air is escaping thru those little leakage points then that makes it difficult for the dust to come in.

It mostly works if w/o a cabin air filter too. At least until you drop into a dust bowl behind Eureka Sand Dune going a wee tad too fast and take the bow wake of dust over the roof. Not that I would know anything about that. It was a friend who told me about it, and I'm sticking to that story. [/HIJACK]

Thanks to @Broncovision Ken Relethford for stepping up to lead the Saturday run to Heartbreak Ridge!
Ken if you need any information on Heartbreak let me know , I'll be at headquarters starting Thursday
This my first ever offroad adventure. other than my bronco, water and snacks what should i bring?
Anything to make your day more fun, if your asking about Bronco equipment, a communication radio is a great idea, I use a Ham radio on the runs, tools to air down your tires for more ride comfort, and chairs for lunch
