Looking for input/advise.

I'm currently signed up for Upper Holcomb-Squeeze-LJB. Since LJB has been eliminated or optional and I'm not sure I will be able to find anyone willing to run LJB with me, I'm just a little bummed, I wanted to try to stretch my comfort and test what our bronco can do past what we have already done, mostly easy to moderate with a couple more difficult obstacles.

So I'm considering changing to a different run, our rig G6 badlands, 21/2 lift with almost 35's. OEM sliders and under body skids.

I'd like to stretch my comfort just a little and see what more the bronco is capable of, but nothing too crazy. My main goal out there beside having a good time. Don't get hurt or break anything. I know there are no guarantees out there and I'm willing to take some risks.

I'm considering Gold Mountain. I have seen a couple videos of this trail, including Trail Mulisha 22 BBBB. It seams doable to me being with what I expect to be more experienced people than I and choosing the less difficult lines.

So the real question, is my rig well enough protected to consider taking this trail?
You can always join us heading up to the knoll 🤙

We added that run to offer another Medium rated trail since we're more heavily loaded with Easy and Difficult runs. It only achieves that rating with Little John Bull thrown in but Joerg has decided to delete it from the run, and as Run Leader he has ultimate discretion to do so. That said, if, once you're done with the run you still want to run LJB, and if anyone else in your group is left wanting more, you can of course just go run it if you want to. The GPX/ONX file includes it to help find your way (make sure you pre-download the map for whatever app you're using since you likely won't have cell service out there. You'll be close to the beginning of LBJ when you reach the end of the run.

As for whether your rig can handle it, of course it can. You saw mine the other day on Thomas hunting Grounds. Yeah it looks badass but it's just a Base-non-Sasquatch so it has no lockers or other high end gear. Just a lift and 35's. I've run both LBJ and Gold Mountain cleanly with that setup, and with no sliders or skid plates other than the gas tank skid it came with. Your Badlands is a much more capable rig than mine.

@Dusty Looks like I'll be leading Saturdays Heartbreak Ridge run (Never ran it caveat) I've reached out to those signed up but can't find how to add people to an existing conversation so I don't have to keep starting new conversations. Any ideas?

I'll probably be leading John Bull on Friday as well (It's been a few years Caveat) and have done the same approach reaching out to those who signed up. Just can't figure out how to add members to the conversation.
Thanks
Rob.
See you Thursday night.

See you Thursday night.

Thanks for leading those runs! If you need a GPX/ONX route for either of those let me know, I'd be happy to set it up for you. And what is your last name so I can put you down as the run leader?

As for chatting about the run here on the forum, I would suggest just starting a new thread for it rather than the "conversation" feature. Just start a new thread here in the BBBBXXII section and title it something like "Heartbreak Ridge Saturday Run Talk". In the first message of the thread explain what the thread is for and introduce yourself as the Run Leader. Then tag each of your run participants in the first message and invite them to chime in. Tagging them will fire a notification which they should see. Then whenever anyone new signs up you can tag them too. And if you set up a thread like that I'll put a link to it in the Run Description for that run.

Thanks I'll give that a shot. I've already got the runs mapped out so I figured I could lead them.

Hey Everyone,
I'm looking forward to seeing you all in a few weeks. For those joining us for the up to Bronco Knoll Trail, I lead a fair amount of runs and I like to have list of everyones contact info and emergency contacts just incase.

I put together a Google form to help collect some basic info like contact info incase anything happens. At the end if will give you the GPS route we'll be using for the day. If youre not a techie, dont worry about it, let's just connect at the meet up spot.

Link: Bronco Knoll Form

Please bring water, snacks, sunscreen and a paint pen if you would like to leave your mark ;) on the Knoll. Looking forward to seeing many of you there!

Cheers,

AJ

Thanks for taking time to include such detailed information and the onX map! Much appreciated and looking forward to Saturdays run.

Gold mountain has quite a few signed up already with more probably to show plus I saw a FB post where there is another group meeting there at 8am so I changed my mind again, this time Heartbreak Ridge.

Hey all! hope you don't mind, another Sin City Bronco making my way out tonight. But... I'm originally from Studio City/Simi Valley. So, kinda half and half! Happy to contribute to the BBQ (although may not make it to that) and other SoCal Bronco fee/admission. Been going to Big Bear for years for snowboarding. But never for off-roading. Looking forward to checking it out. Thanks.

Thank you for leading on the Upper Holcomb. The Squeeze trail run yesterday. My son, Ben, and I left directly after the run to drive home to Santa Barbara and did not have the opportunity to thank you directly. We had a great time! Thanks again to you and to all for a memorable day.

Hi. New to the group this year and can't wait for the Bash! My first choice for a trail run on Saturday is Heartbreak Ridge but since I've never been on the trails in Big Bear before would prefer to go on one woth a leader. So if Heartbreak Ridge ends up DIY, I would like to sign up for the Upper Holcomb to The Squeeze run. How can I do that? Thanks!

This year’s runs haven’t been posted yet. Hang tight, Dusty will get around to it…
Thank you. We had the fortunate opportunity to meet Dusty and Stephie at Forever Fords yesterday and got the low down. Great meeting them and got us real excited for the BBBB!

Perfect! It's a great event with lots of runs for folks at different levels of experience as well as a great time in the evening when we all get together and break bread and tell war stories about Broncos.
