Big Bear Bronco Bash XXII - Overview

Added to Calendar: 06/08/23, 06/09/23, 06/10/23, 06/11/23

Yes, once we get a little closer to the dates. @BadSquatch if you want to lead a run again let me know and I'll start a list. Just let me know which day and what trail(s) you want to cover.
Good to know as I don't know what time we'll be rolling in. As a Newbie to BBBB, do most trail runs just meet up at the trail head or is there a central meetup point? Hoping to run
2N61Y - Heartbreak Ridge & 3N10 – LIL John Bull &/ or John Bull.

Thanks

Man, I just saw something scary! The USFS has closed a LOT of the trails around Big Bear until June 30th. Hopefully that date is a little "lose" and some/all of them will be open in time for BBBB. Here's the official USFS order:

We've been discussing it on the OG facebook group. We're monitoring the situation and looking into ways we can nudge the outcome in our favor. Regardless, BBBB will still happen. We'll deal with whatever trail restrictions remain at the time.

That must be one of the few Bronco related Facebook groups I'm NOT on!

Glad to hear you guys are looking at it, my guess is that they won't keep all the trails closed till June 30th, and then open them all at once. That would seem silly to me. But, then again, we are dealing with the USFS here. I just came across it today and went whoa!

Again, anything I can do to help in general, just let me know.

Btw, how much traffic might the event bring if not staying at Moose lodge and needing to drive from another hotel / airbnb? Just want to be prepared to be there on time, I know from previous years 4th of July has been mayhem, I’m not sure if this may bring some traffic to the small streets?

Traffic is not that bad. Normal summer weekend.

It’s those M’frs with the old Broncos you need to look out for.

I'm headed to this event for the first time with the family. Any good family friendly trail recommendations?

Look up last year's threads on this, "Archived Threads...". There is a thread started by Dusty that has a link to the trail descriptions, and another thread of his with descriptions and map links to each of the staging areas.

That isn't to say that everything this year will be the same. You can count on at least some of it being different, at least in part due to the potential for routes still being closed, but also due to what people want to do this year.

We finally booked our hotel, we will be coming in later on Friday but will be there all weekend! So excited!

Dusty you got the run list out yet?

Nope. We're waiting on clarification of the trail closure status. We'll be running trails regardless, but the open/closed status will have some. bearing on whether we can publicly list them.

Hello So Cal Bronco community! Would we be able to get vendor/booth information for this event? :)
Hi there. We don't have a vendor booth setup area. But many vendors come up and join on the trail runs and mingle with our participants, which you are welcome to do.

Will be looking forward to my First BBBB!
Me also. Figure I come on the forums to find what gear is needed for the trail runs. I'm hoping to find some easy runs to get started on and then progress. Wondering do we need recovery gear, a radio for comms a tire deflator, heck not sure where to start but figure msg someone here.

It's always a good idea to carry recovery gear. Tire deflators and an air pump will come in handy as well. Comms are always good. I have both GMRS/FRS as well as VHF which I believe is the preferred SoCal Broncos radio. I'm new here so hopefully someone will chime in as well. Don't forget Sunblock and a hat 🤠
