USFS Road Closures in 2026

Know before you go and plan a route. While all the popular fun routes North of the Lake are open, both the Line Fire and Radford Fire closures are still in place. These are popular roads south of the lake for commuting to and from Big Bear the fun way. Please note if a gate is open, it doesn't mean you can be on that road, or that its safe. There are crews working them to get open. In the meantime I'm sharing some links for everyone to check:

Thanks for posting this. A lot of folks assume that if the gate is open that the trail is open. Unfortunately, we have too many people out there cutting the locks. In the end, if you want to be sure that a trail is open, just call the ranger station they should have the absolute latest information.
