Gate Access updates for Maple Springs

Yo FNG here! Thanks for letting me join your group and I look forward to kicking up a bit of dust with you soon. I live in RSM and very close to the Maple Springs Gate access to Main Divide act...... Has anyone heard of when the gate might open after the fire damage? Late spring?

There's no official opening date right now. Lots of rumors about it reopening at different times. You might want to call the Trabuco Ranger District at (951) 736-1811 and talk to the Ranger and see what they have to say about it.

We were told in February to expect 2026 or later from a Ranger we saw at Cooks Corner.

Yeah, I'm not surprised, the fires REALLY hit that area HARD and it's going to take a while for it to start to recover.

Here is an update. The Maple Springs gate is now open. I was there today and ran North Main Divide to Mojeska Peak before running out of time. Road has been graded and they have put in a lot of work since the fire to get large equipment up to the towers. I bet the weekends will be busy so weekday get aways will save you the hassle of dodging kids in daddy's truck. Have fun!
