Big Bear Bronco Bash is So Cal Bronco's annual Main Event. Now in it's 21st year, "The Bash" is a long weekend of Bronco Enthusiasts coming together to hit the trails and hang out. BBBB is an "unevent," meaning there is no official registration, no steering committee, and no official schedule. It is absolutely FREE to attend Big Bear Bronco Bash and enjoy whatever is going on, as we have no apparatus for charging money and incurring costs. But that doesn't mean nothing happens. Far from it! BBBB is an all-volunteer event, with individuals and groups stepping forward to make each aspect of the event happen. In some cases they will ask for and accept donations to help cover their costs. And of course you are responsible for your own accommodations and associated costs. But attendance and participation is free. That said, a "DIY" event like this does place some responsibility on each participant. There is nobody to herd you, nobody to tell you where to go and what to do. So it's up to you ts join the discussion and find out how to make the most of the event!

I'll be posting the pertinent information here in our new forum over the coming weeks. But in the meantime you can find a lot of information on our static website at https://socalbroncos.net/bbbb/ For the FNG's, if you've never been to BBBB, that page will give you an idea of what to expect. But keep an eye on these forums for details as they become available.

Any word on trail runs? It doesn’t look like the signup sheets are live yet? Or am I missing something? Got my hotel reserved, the Bronco has been on a couple of shakedown runs, and Lucia and I are very excited to meet everyone and get some more trail time.

There won't be signup sheets this year. Those are leftover from last year. They didn't work very well so we won't be using them again. We'll be posting a list of run suggestions and asking for run leader volunteers and posting that information up. But if you've never been to BBBB before it's largely ad hoc, DIY, run what you brung, etc.

Sweet! Then we are all ready to rock! Can’t wait.

Ok, so we have a place to stay, t-shirts are ordered, and donation to the BBQ has been made. Just have to figure out what trails we want to run...

I will be there, I booked room a motel 6 because they are dog friendly. I am a first time off roader and have a stock black diamond ( non-sqauch) I hope there will be some easy site seeing type runs.

On the BBBB site, they split the trails up into Easy, Moderate, and Hard. The easy ones are, pretty much, just sightseeing runs on dirt roads from what I can see. Take a look https://socalbroncos.net/bbbb/ where they describe the trails in a bit more detail.

Stayed there my first few times. Not a bad place only thing they don’t provide shampoo or soap, well back then…

Any word on what trails are running when and where they will meet up? My wife and I can't get there on Thurs until LATE, so we won't be able to hit the trails until Friday morning.

FNG Here. Signed up for Thursday and Friday. Can't stay for more. :( 1 Question: Comms??? CB, GMRS, Ham? I have all three! Also is there a staging or check in channel / frequency? Travel channel / Freq?

We're in for the 11:OO Gold Mtn Run on Thu, & The 09:00 Lil Bull on Fri., if that makes a difference.

If you click on the individual runs where you signed up for each run, you will see the meeting areas and times - majority are 9am. I don't think there is a leader yet for Lil John Bull. Your run leader at the driver's meeting will discuss what channel or radio frequency to be on. You can see the frequency list here: https://socalbroncos.com/forum/threads/radio-frequencies.187/ If you hang out Thursday evening after your first run (at the Lodge), it's always a good way to see what people are thinking of running on Friday - and in general, get to meet everyone and check out everyone's Bronco :) . Jeff, aka "12-Pack" and his dad, serves up some great tacos and salsa that night as well!

It's finally June, BRONCO BASH month! BBBBXXI is only 9 days away
🙂
From my place here in the IE at the foot of the mountains I can hear the clank of wrenches turning all over Southern California as our SCB brothers and sisters are making those final mods, repairs and adjustments to their trusty steeds. If you haven't yet, please take a break from your prep and think about RUNS.

If you plan on going on any of the pre-scheduled runs at Bronco Bash, PLEASE go on the forum thread for each day and mark yourself down on your run(s) of choice. It's not mandatory to do so, but it is greatly appreciated by those who have volunteered to lead them, to know how many to expect on their runs. It will also help me when I trim the run list later this week, and eliminate the ones that haven't generated any interest yet. Once agin, here are the links to the runs:.

So yeah, this Friday or so, I'll be deleting any runs from the run lists that either have nobody signed up, or no run leader volunteer yet. That will help distill the options down for those who will be making last-minute run choices during the final week before the Bash. So please try to get on there and make your choices before this Friday, if at all possible. And yes, you do have to create an account on the forum there. That might seem like a hassle to you, but believe me, your two minutes of hassle to register on the forum is minuscule compared to the hassle those of us who put this thing together go through to coordinate all of this.

Note that you are more than welcome to "do your own thing" and run whatever trails you want, with whoever you want, any time during Bronco Bash, rather than participate in any of the planned runs. Many do that, and that's one of the cool things about BBBB, you can literally Choose Your Own Adventure. But if you do, please try to stay well ahead of or behind the group runs, let them "play through" if your group is held up on a trail for some reason, respect the established staging areas for them (use a different location or time to meet), and please don't use Wolf Creek Resort as your gathering point. Stage somewhere else, so we don't get too much congestion when folks are trying to get organized and in-and-out of there to get to their runs.

I'm also making a final plea for RUN LEADER volunteers. If you are willing and able to lead one of the scheduled runs, please let me know, and also put your name down on that run on the signups. You may choose any of the runs still marked as "Leader needed".

If you are brand new to Big Bear Bronco Bash and/or So Cal Broncos, there's a lot more you need to know about BBBB in order to understand and enjoy it to its fullest. I'll prepare some sort of an FAQ for FNG's soon and post it up, so BOLO for that

While my Bronco has a new radiator, it needs far more to attend. I will get to big bear Saturday. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
