Bronco Babe
I'm available Saturday to lead an easy/medium run if anyone is still looking for an option. I would prefer to stay up in Big Bear area and not be in the heat/dust of the desert since we plan on going topless! I see there's already a run to Upper Holcomb/Squeeze (which is full), so perhaps Delamar Mountain to Upper Holcomb would work, and/or Little John Bull to the Squeeze. We will have our '22 Bronco and our son's new '24 Tacoma too, which is still stock with a rear locker, so nothing too crazy. I've been on most of those trails before over the past 20+ years that I've been off-roading.
We can decide Saturday morning which way to go or chime in here with any ideas. Here's some info on the trails:
Delamar Mountain Loop is a 9-mile route that almost fully circumnavigates Delamar Mountain, just north of Big Bear Lake and Fawnskin. It is an easy, scenic route that can be combined with other trails in the area to form a longer trek. Rated: EASY
Upper Holcomb is an easy, scenic route that mostly runs parallel to the Holcomb Creek gorge. It is a convenient route to link together with other trails in the area to form a longer adventure. Rated: EASY
The Squeeze is a short but fun trail that connects Holcomb Valley to the John Bull Junction area via a winding, sometimes technical route through the Pinnacles rock climbing area and Coyote Crag. The trail is named for a tight fit between two boulders that may prove a challenge for full-size vehicles. The trail includes several short rock-crawling sections making it a fun addition to any of the nearby trails including John Bull and Little John Bull. Rated: MEDIUM
Little John Bull runs the eastern section of FS road 3N10, from its beginning at 3N02 (Burnt Flat Rd.) on the east, westward to its junction with 3N32 (Union Flat Rd.) This section of 3N10 is rated Easy for most of its length, with the exception of a couple of short, steep, rocky sections which may require 4X4 and therefore give the trail its MEDIUM rating. Video:
