I just changed my vote from Overland to Big Bear to Burns Canyon for Friday and noticed that 21 people have signed up but the % is 30.9. Is this run full or still open? Thanks for all your heavy lifting!

The "Overland run" is now DIY and changed meeting locations, I've figured out part of the trail just looking at the info given and the map, is anyone going that knows the whole trail?

If someone has a group spot camping spot or room for 2 at a family spot, I'm also looking for a camping spot for 2 people with one 6.5' x 6.5' tent to add to anyone who has a spot that allows for it. As of this morning our original plans have failed to confirm that we are still on for staying on their property (a past neighbor) and I'm getting a little nervous about if they will come through or not and I'm thinking about a backup plan. We would pitch in of course and are only looking for Friday night and possibly Saturday night, but we might just drive home Saturday night.

Booked a room for Friday night. I was actually surprise there was a reasonable priced room available this close to the date, but we got lucky and so I just booked it so we don't to have to worry about it.

Highly recommend using ONX or some other navigation app. I've set the route up in ONX and also provided a GPX file you can download and import into any other mapping software. You could even import it into Google Maps if you want. But I would suggest using an app that has downloadable base maps (and making sure you download them before leaving town). With ONX or Gaia and the route file I've provided, you can't get lost unless you really try hard to do so LOL.

Hello there! I am Kyle from bronco6g and will be coming up for the day on Friday and will join the Overland to Big bear group. I have ONX and downloaded the route so I am happy to help navigate. I will also be on GMRS for others with radios. Leaving el segundo around 630-7am

See yall there

That's awesome, thanks for helping guide the lost sheep LOL. Your last gas is in Mentone at the corner of highway 38 and Crafton Avenue, a few miles shy of the meeting spot at the ranger station. On the route you'll notice there is a short little out-and-back spur along the first leg of the route before you get to Thomas Hunting Grounds. Make sure you take the group out to that point. We call it the Helicopter Pad and it has a great view down into the gorge and the IE beyond. On a clear day you can see the high-rises of DTLA from there. On the second leg, just after starting down Middle Control Road after leaving the 38 at Angelus Oaks, at the first sharp left where the trail turns at a cleft in the mountain, look back on your passenger's side. There's a nice little waterfall there that should still have some good runoff. Lots more points of interest along the route but I didn't have time to waypoint them.

I have ONX and a GMRS too.

Now that Clark’s Grade to Bear Creek is open, is anyone interested in doing that run with me? Not sure I feel comfortable leading.

Hi, I have question for tomorrow's run. Wildhorse Meadows and Coon Creek Run at 9:AM. Are we gonna go back from where we started on the same trail? The reason I asked is because I was wondering if I can jus meet up my group on the Wildhorse Meadows Trail South End, going up from where the group started?

Since there's no run leader for it, whoever goes on it can run it however they like. But the original intent of the run was to run both trails one way then hop on Highway 38 for the return trip.

@Dusty showing 27 rigs on burns canyon. Are you planning to split it up at all?
We have at least 7 folks who can't read LOL. But we'll figure out a way to accommodate them. The reason I laid out over a dozen different runs was in hopes that people would spread out more rather than bunching up on the same few runs. And I'm sure quite a few more will simply just show up for it unannounced despite my pleas to the contrary. But we'll figure out a way to accommodate them rather than splitting us up. We'll probably just need to have some mid-gunners that can relay radio signals from back to front because we'll be so spread out. That's what we did last year when 38 rigs showed up on one of the runs I was leading.

Thank you so much Sir for the info.

I moved my vote to lessen that number. Have fun!
