BBBBXXI - THURSDAY Run List & Signups

Dusty

I Started This Gangsta Shit
So Cal Broncos OG
THIS WILL FUNCTION AS OUR SIGNUP SHEET! Please indicate your Run Choice for Thursday of Bronco Bash, June 9, 2022, by casting your "vote" in this poll. This vote is not binding, you may change your choice at any time. This just gives us an idea of how many people are interested in this run, and if it needs a run leader or can be left as a DIY run. Please note the TIME and STAGE area for each run. The TIME noted is the time the run leader will leave the staging area for the trail, so please show up in plenty of time to be ready to leave at that time, including any necessary bullshitting, tire kicking, etc. Show up at the staging area already FUELED UP and ready to go.

These are "Early Bird" runs for those showing up on Thursday morning. The run times are staggered by 2-hour intervals so those arriving at various times can get on a run.

Details on the various trails, along with maps, descriptions and difficulty notes, can be found HERE. A list of Staging areas with their exact locations can be found HERE.

If you would like to volunteer as a Run Leader please let me (@Dusty ) know, and I'll put you down. If you would like to lead a run but on a different trail or time than those listed above, let me know and I will add it to the list/poll. Volunteering as a Run Leader is MUCH appreciated, as it helps out those who are new to So Cal Broncos and Bronco Bash, who might not already be situated with where to go and what to do at the Bash.

We will do our best to solicit and designate run leader volunteers for the runs that have the most interest. But if there is no run leader designated by the run date, it will be a "DIY" run, meaning that whoever shows up will need to figure out among yourselves where to go and what to do. In that case it's best to carry maps, GPS, etc., and have a general knowledge of the trail before you set out to run it. If nobody in the DIY group has been on the trail or has proper navigation equipment and the confidence to find your way, please abort and find something else to do.

I’m interested in Trying gold mountain. Anybody know if lockers are needed? Because I don’t have them yet 🤷🏽‍♂️

We've run Gold Mountain in our 2-door Base without lockers! It's a challenge but doable. There's a spot or two where you might need a yank so just make sure you've got recovery points and a strap. On a run like this there will be plenty of people to provide said yank if you need it. Good idea to be on 35's but if you're not, rocker protection would be advisable.

Great video!! Thanks for that. I think I’ll give it a shot for my very first trail.

I do have 35’s but no rocker protection. Not sure where said yank will be done seeing as I have no tube bumpers or shackles. I guess we’ll figure that out then 🤷🏽‍♂️

All 2021+ Broncos come with front and rear recovery attachment points. Unless you've removed them, you have them. The front MOD bumpers have D-ring tabs (make sure you have D-rings) and the plastic bumpers come with the recovery loops below the bumper. On the rear there is the one recovery loop under the bumper. So just do the people who will be on the run with you a favor and make sure you have suitable recovery attachment points, a good recovery strap (not the yellow Harbor Freight one with the chintzy metal hooks), and a way to attach the strap to the recovery points.

On the lack of rocker protection, that's your prerogative to go without. I made it through Gold Mountain without rock sliders and no rocker damage. But it's still a possibility. Especially on 4-doors.

My apologies, I have a 72.

LOL no MY apologies for assuming! I've just gotten so used to the 6G folks having all the questions. So an EB on 35's with no lockers will probably struggle about as much as I did in the video, maybe a little more since you don't have the traction control features of the modern drivetrain. But we've had quite a few open-open guys go through there over the years. Like I said, just make sure your recovery strategy is sorted and you should be fine.

I “signed” for Gold Mountain as of right now not sure if I will be coming up on Wednesday, if so I’ll be there so i can go on John Bull. If i drive up on Thursday I’ll want to be able to do a run and gold mountain is late enough that i should be able to get there in time. I’ll know more later. And if it’s Gold Mountain it’s one of my favorite fun runs that if no leader I’ll lead. More info soon.

I think I will be up there Thursday before 11 and can lead Gold Mountain.

Thanks Eddie and Tom! I put Tom down as the run leader since he sounded slightly more definite LOL.

Cool. For sure I’ll be there just not sure for the 9am or 11am, but if there for gold mountain I’ll bring up the rear as I’ll want 20 rigs in between Tom’s rig and mine….. 😎 i do k ow that i am excited to see everyone. See you all soon!

Do we need any Park Passes to drive these trails? New to all this, but have seen that to roll out on some trails, you need a pass from the "park ranger" or some thing... jeez.. can you tell I'm new? ;)
Trying to make Big Bear on Thursday... Base 4door HT w/ 33 badland take-offs... Ready to roll!

What you're referring to is an Adventure Pass, and no, they do not apply to what we do.
