I will be leading Heatbreak Ridge w/ Sidewinder on Friday 6-12-26.
This run is rated 5/10 and has some jagged rock gardens, tight canyon squeezes, and off-camber shelf-road sections. 33" tires minimum. Rock sliders and skid plates are highly recommended for this trail.

There are also open vertical mines, so please keep kids and animals in check.

Planning to meet off of Hwy 38 & 2NO1- Broom Flat which is an easy connector road to Heart Break Ridge @ 9am Wheels rolling by 9:30. Be gassed up & ready to go. It is about an hour drive out of town to the trailhead, so please plan accordingly.

Open to 15 vehicles. If you would like to join this run, please respond in the thread with name and vehicle & I will add you to the list 🤠.

Interested but think i would slow you down. 66 on 31s. No lift, stock drive train. Been awhile since I've been out. Anyone running something a bit less? Unless y'all don't mind a pull here and tug there. Eitger way, thanks

Come to the SCMF USFS event/run. should be a great time, and this was a group that was near and dear to Dannys heart. Take a look here for more info: https://socalbroncos.com/forum/thre...in-foundation-usfs-rigs-restoration-run.1100/

@BadSquatch suggestion below might be better to help ease back into things 🤠.

Hey Felix. You can sign me up. Are we also going to hit Round Valley trail for a bit also? Names Tom. Stock Badlands on 33's. Has a winch.

Round Valley no, But I think I will add Sidewinder 🤠
Just a clarification, you DO run through Round Valley (2N61Y) to get to Heartbreak Ridge. Another note for our long-time So Cal Broncos folks who might be joining you is that in this case I think by Sidewinder you're referring to the short loop trail on the side of Burns Canyon road, 2N70Y. That might be confusing to some because we use the name Sidewinder to refer to the trail the rest of the world knows as Mottino Wash (if you're interested in how that came to be, let me know). The trail I think you're referring to, we call Rattler Loop. That's not an official name for it (neither is Sidewinder), it's just what we've called it for years since Sidewinder was already used in So Cal Broncos lexicon. I think the maps call it Rattlesnake Canyon, which creates confusion because most people think of Rattlesnake Canyon as the longer road from Vaughn Spring down to the 247. Oh well, call them whatever you want, just adding some notes for our old school guys so they don't think you're going to run Heartbreak then head down and throw in Sidewinder (aka Mottino), which is doable but would make for a LONG day!

so, enter round valley from the west, up and down Heartbreak, the exit the east side of round valley? drops you off right near sidwinder or what ever you want to call it

Just as a clarification to Dusty's post above. Mottino Wash trail is quite a bit NE from Heartbreak Ridge and what is called "Sidewinder". Mottino is off Rattlesnake Canyon trail and is rated a 9 or extreme by On X. I don't think we'll be doing that one. lol
