BBBBXXIII - Thursday Morning Easy Run - Delmar Mountain

I'll be leading a run on Thursday of Big Bear Bronco Bash, and invite anyone who's interested to join me.
  • DATE & TIME: Thursday, June 6, 9:00 AM
  • TRAIL RATING: Easy
  • TRAILS: Delmar Mountain
  • STAGING LOCATION: Big Bear Discovery Center parking lot on the north side of the lake. Google Maps LINK
  • MAX VEHICLES: 20
  • COMMS: TBD depending on what most of the participants have, but I suspect it will be GMRS
Delamar Mountain is a 9-mile route that almost fully circumnavigates Delamar Mountain, just north of Big Bear Lake and Fawnskin. It is an easy, scenic route. My intent is to run this route in the morning, then head back to Big Bear for lunch, and then do another run (probably Upper Holcomb) in the afternoon to give folks who are arriving in the afternoon a run they can jump on. I'll post that separately.

Here's the link to the trail in OnX, if you need/want the .gpx file hit me up and I'll sent it to you.

HAM/GRMS Radio (we will decide what freqency/channel we will use at the drivers meeting)
GPS Reader of some type (we'll communicate files in GPX)
1 full size spare
Water & Food/Snacks (we shouldn't be on the trail past lunch, but you might want a snack along just in case)
Basic tools and recovery gear (if you don't have these, there are some good thread on this forum talking about what you get. Since this is an easy trail, your SHOULDN'T need them)

For those of you who are also going on the afternoon run, I just heard that there's not going to be a Taco night on Thurs. night so Lucia and I are going to go to Gaby's for dinner. If anyone want's to join us we would love the company. https://gabysbigbear.com/

I'd like to limit the number of vehicles to 20. If you'd like to join me please post below and I'll add you to the list. I doubt that we will get 20 since it's early, but you never know.

OK, well then I think that your best best in the Bronco Knoll run @Marcelino13 The climb up the Knoll is at least a little exciting. A lot will depend on what the weather this winder did to the trails going up and which route the leader picks.
The other option is set one up! See if there's some interest and lead a run on one of the more difficult trails. I haven't heard, for example, about ANY runs to Dishpan Springs yet.

BadSquatch, I’m going to have to back out of both Thursday runs. Grandson is having surgery that day. Going to sit with my daughter.

Mike Sheppard.
