New to the group & new off-road experience

Super stoked to join this group & getting out with my new Bronco. We’re new & inexperienced in the off-road scene our experience was a 1-day adventure at the Bronco OFFROADEO in Nevada. Just wanted to ask what are some good starting points & things to know before getting out on trails? So far, I have purchased equipment to deflate & inflate my tires. Any other tips or suggested trails to start?

Hi there and welcome to the So Cal Broncos brotherhood! I think you've got a great start with carrying air up/down gear. I would suggest adding a recovery strap and a couple of shackles. Other than that, the Bronco is very capable right out of the box so I wouldn't suggest going and spending a bunch of money on upgrades before you've had a chance to use it as-is and really get a feel for what further modifications you might need. As for trails to start out on, So Cal is a big place so let us know where you're located and I'm sure someone here can suggest something close to you.

It was the same for me, just take it slow and learn your limitations first. ONX off-road is an app that I have been using. It’s got routes that have been taken by other off-roaders all over the place. Gives you the degree of difficulties, type of trails and specifically for the type of vehicle you are using. It helps you navigate to the locations you want to go to. You can record your own routes and with the Bronco WIFi it keeps your location accurate. It’s been a blast learning all the abilities of this beast. I to did the Nevada off rodeo but nothing like doing it in your own Bronco. That’s why I wanted to join Socal Broncos, so I can push the limits a little more with like minded Bronco enthusiasts. Haven’t gone on a trail yet with this group but I’m planning on it.
