Hi
Just wondering what gear / ie radio for comms, recovery gear, would you recommend us newbies bringing with us to the Bash if we'd like to join some trail runs? Im sure this is in the forum thread somewhere.
Will there be vendors set up to selling accessories and gear?
Thanks in advance.

We don't have a vendor area but vendors are welcome to come and participate in the runs and other activities and hang out with our members. For gear, it depends on what kind of trouble you think you might get into. At the bare minimum, a spare tire and a way to change it, a recovery strap and some way to attach it both front and rear. Optional for your comfort and enjoyment would be a radio for comms (we typically use 2-way VHF/ham/race channels) and air down/up equipment to make the ride nicer (this is more of a must on the Medium to Difficult trails for improving traction). You'll also need all the usual stuff for an excursion in the back-country. Food and water (lunch is usually eaten on the trail), a folding chair unless you want to stand or sit on a log to eat it. Clothing layers because the weather can be unpredictable and change quickly at altitude. Some first aid stuff, sun screen, etc. Also make sure your rig is in top operating order.
