Seeing Dusty's post in the Bishop thread about not routing fuel lines near heat sources got me to wondering how many are using a returning fuel system with a carb? There's a range of different ways to do it, just curious if any here are doing it?
Curious to see what others are carrying and how they're carrying their tools. I know that I'm not the only one, I just had pics of all of it because a couple years ago someone asked.
ETA: This is the result of ~30 years of trying different ideas. Works for me, but may or may not for anyone else.
Some of us haul 397 pounds worth of tools. Some of us carry nothing except for enough beer to be able to borrow as many of those tools as needed to do a trail repair.
In the FSB I'm...
Do we have a thread already on tools to carry? Should we make one, or should they go here? There are a couple tools that may not be obvious that are the first tools that I put in any new to me vehicle.
I think that I'd put a Starlink in the "Nice to Have" column rather than the Must Have column. I'd put an InReach or a SPOT in the Must Have column first, but really only then if going on extended back-country trips with a very small group. Unless there's the budget for it when doing such trips...
When we did the NooBs trip in '22 we went up Silver and down Wyman, and back out on 168. It was a full day, but then were also based out of Big Pine. So the long highway slog was on the front end of the trip rather than the rear end of it.
Since no one else has answered I'll take a stab at it. I've been up to Coyote Flats and up Silver Cyn, but I have not been up Wheeler Crest. Those are the three runs that have been mentioned so far.
You can drive a Subaru up Silver Cyn if you want to beat on it that hard, I don't. 33's will be...
Some updates for BBBB XXV:

BAT? Sounds like a candidate for that page.
Or possibly one of the auctions like Barrett-Jackson etc.
They all have nuances that you'll need to be aware of, and I'm not the guy who knows.
The only time that I can recall being in that area with SCEB was when I came thru in the VW "Caddy' on my way to somewhere else. I think that was the Caddy and not Patch, but it's been a few days since then and I've slept some since then.
I did tow the TrailBlazer to one of the SOBs. Camped with...
Looked it up on Gaia, goes over 10k, that's got to be a good test of cooling systems! I've been up to Rock Creek scouting campgrounds, and back in the late 70's I went on an epic snow camp further up that canyon.
I'm thinking that this would be a good trip for the TrailBlazer tent trailer. Need...
