Have you ever heard or used this product

It does work fine with tap water, but your cooling system won't like the minerals in tap water. Prior to this product becoming available we used water soluble oil with straight water to do nearly the same thing. I've no doubt that this product is a better option.

    Check your brakes

Every time I see something like this I am amazed that the most obvious and immediate solution to the problem is either ignored or not thought of. Turn the ignition key off! Years ago when Toyota was having a run-away engines problem there was a Camry full of people, driven by an off duty CHP...

Wayne, that forced me into educating myself further. I just drained, flushed, and refilled the FSB's system and I had noticed that "normal" green coolant was not as abundant as it used to be, but I'd just figured that was due to the CV-19. Now I'm thinking that I should have done more research...

    Hungry Valley SVRA (Gorman)

That's a point of common confusion. Most folks think that MJT starts here. It does not and never did. The confusion comes from the fact that in a 4x4 there is only one off road trail option at that starting point. The first portion of the route originally followed the Lockwood Creek Trail and...

    Hungry Valley SVRA (Gorman)

There was the initial re-routing of Lockwood Creek Trail to get it up out of the water. That must have been at least 30 years ago? I'll guess that there have been incremental changes made since then, but no idea what they might be. I also dimly recall that after a rash of rolls on the ledge...

I have run Water Wetter in the past. I don't do so now. Nothing that I have is running that close to the ragged edge and I want everything to be able to work in real winter weather. If you are racing there is good reason to use it in place of a coolant mix. Not so much for anything else. If...

    Hungry Valley SVRA (Gorman)

MJT isn't within the SVRA's boundries, but it is very close by. The top of Alamo Mtn is a nice area Two pics of Patch in yer pics there Dusty. :) What about the MJT run that we did make, any pics from that? I have a few that were taken by others: Showing off my buggy's superior...

D44 TTB 8 lug with a rear D60 and large disc brake conversions

Parts dropped off, hoping for an assembled D60 diff by the end of the week.

D44 TTB 8 lug with a rear D60 and large disc brake conversions

New rear rotors are modified and mounted. Ø0.041" safety wire sucks. I'm using it in a single string thru the rotor mount bolts ala old school, non-aero, non-astro safety wring practice. Bolts are torqued with 271 in the threads, so the wire is just the "belt" to the Lock-tite's "suspenders."...

    Radio Frequencies

Was it me and I didn't want a hole in the roof (or there is no roof to put the hole in), I'd put it at the rear and mount it such that as much of the whip as can be tolerated is above the roof line. I'm sure that the TX signal strength map will be influenced by the shape of the ground plane...

    Radio Frequencies

Found the UV-5R TX unlock mod. Hold down all three of these buttons while the radio is off: "PTT", "MON", & "VFO/MR"; while holding those down turn on the radio. I have a couple of the "NGP" ("No Ground Plane") antennas, that when given a ground plane go from zero gain to about 3dB gain. At a...

    Radio Frequencies

It bugs me that you can get a dual or triple band mobile with a detachable face, but not a simple single band radio. The detachable face option opens up many more mounting locations while allowing the radio itself to live under a seat or somewhere out of the way. I'd likely have the face-plate...

    Radio Frequencies

There is a page out there on the Baofeng's that mentioned pressing three buttons at once and then turning the unit on while all three buttons were kept pressed. This reportedly "unlocks" the TX range. The only button of the three that I recall for sure is the 'Monitor' button. I don't recall the...

I re-programmed the "defective" radios using the same programing file and the same software, and now they TX as they should have.

BBBBXXI - SATURDAY Run List & Signups

I learned that "too many radios" lesson a while back. Then it was 3 radios, cb, FRS, and 2M. I quickly lost track of what I'd said to whom and vowed to never, ever do that again. While GMRS isn't a bad choice, I feel that 2 Meter ham is the best choice. When the buy-in cost is pretty much the...

OK @Dusty, help the FNG ( :) ) out, where is that goggle maps route? Tried searching it and every link that I could find, no good.

BBBBXXI - SATURDAY Run List & Signups

Reading Joerg's post above I'm reminded that the #1 Rule on trail rides is to make sure that the rig behind you sees where you went. If you get to an intersection and you don't see them well enough to be sure that they see which way you went then you need to stop and wait until you're sure of...

D44 TTB 8 lug with a rear D60 and large disc brake conversions

Suffered a set-back yesterday. The shop that is my go-to for diff gear set-ups can't look at it until the second week of July.

BBBBXXI - SATURDAY Run List & Signups

WHEN you have a cabin air filter running windows up, fan on is a good way to keep the dust out. If air is escaping thru those little leakage points then that makes it difficult for the dust to come in. It mostly works if w/o a cabin air filter too. At least until you drop into a dust bowl...
