eTDS Feb 24-27, 2022

@Dusty, yeah yeah, how's this....

Bronco's, Beers, Camping, and Wheeling

The Tierra Del Sol Safari typically takes place the first weekend in March and is a huge off-road event at Ocotillo Wells. We all got tired of the crowds and in 2021 we had our first eTDS (early TDS) the weekend before. We circle up the RV's and Bronco's, have a good size fire pit or two, and hit the trails every day. Often times there's a night run.

There's usually some kind of wrenching going on, and typically our group ends up doing a fun recovery for the yahoo's who don't know dirt out there (last year was a diesel truck that slid off a really steep road).

Anyone is welcome. Jeeps and SXS's too - we only make fun of you sometimes ;)

Last year we had a big group and lots of fun with no crowds! Who's in for this year?
It's been awhile since I have had my girl out. I finally got her running and doing some final projects, if all goes well I would love to join.

Is there a map for where the base camp will be?

Sonny

Approximate location of TDS camp. Exit Hwy 86 at N. Marina Drive. Paved road will turn to dirt. Go through notch and across wash. Keep following wide trail as it turns to the right. As you follow wash look to your left for a bunch of Broncos.

I am SO EXCITED for this run. What's was the turn out last year, I would love to see pictures if anyone has some.

Last year I'd guestimate we had about 20-30 rigs. It was awesome, the entire desert was ours. I'm sure someone has pictures, I don't think I took any. It was a great time, as all SCB trips are.

Just wondering, it's been awhile since I have been out there. Will there be groups split up into Easy, Medium, Hard ,Advanced or does everyone just follow each other?

We all pretty much stick together, maybe 2 different groups. Most of the excursions are to a destination and are easy to get to. Once you get to the destination you can attempt the obstacles there but not required. 95% of this trip can be done with any stock 4x4 on 33's

I plan to drive my '78 F150 up on Saturday morning (leaving Sunday) with my buddy in his '05 Rubicon (each with a passenger). My dad is thinking about coming thru as well in his Gladiator.

The Bronco isn't ready this year.
