BBBBXXII - Where To Stay

Dusty

I Started This Gangsta Shit
So Cal Broncos OG
As a “DIY” event, BBBB participants must make their own arrangements for lodging. Fortunately there are many great options nearby, from resorts to tent camping. While the event is headquartered at the Majestic Moose Lodge, we have already fully booked that resort with members who have been attending the event for years. But there are plenty of great lodging opportunities very close by, which are listed below. Try to get your accommodations squared away as early as possible, as it gets harder to find suitable lodging closer to the date of BBBB.

BBBBXXII Dates: June 8-11, 2023

OK, that throws a bit of a wrench into what I was planning ... off to plan plan B. I'm determined to spend SOME time at BBBB!
The official dates are 8-11 Thursday through Sunday. But some of our folks will probably be there by Wednesday if you want to head up for an early bird run. I know you had something else going on over the weekend that conflicts with the Bash. We'd love to have you there even if its just one day.

Well, I'm definitely trying to figure it out. I think that we will likely come up on Wed. night, so we can do runs on Thurs and Friday, and head back down the hill on Friday night. I'll have to get final approval of that from The Boss (Lucia), but I think she's good with that. What about runs? Do you have a schedule for those yet? Assuming I'm given the green light for this, I'm happy tp lead a run again if you need leaders.

We'll be there! This is our first time, so is there any sort of official sign-up process or do we just show up ready to rock and roll?

There's no official "sign up" for the event, as Dusty says above it's a DYI event. Just show and and get ready roll. However, last year Dusty posted the different trails on here and you could sign up for the runs this site. I don't know if he plans to do the same this year. Also, there's a pot luck one of the nights, again, no signup sheet (at least not in the past). Did you look on https://socalbroncos.net/bbbb/ there is some good info on there, but not everything has been updated for 2023 YET.

OK, got it figured out. going to be staying at the Grey Squirrel. Driving up late on Wed. and then staying thru Friday's runs, and heading back down the mountain Friday night. It's not what I wanted, but it's a compromise I can live with. 2 days of runs is better than none!

I will be arriving to Grey Squirrel on Friday to replace you Joerg. Sorry that we can’t do runs together this year.

If anyone cancels a campsite at any of the campgrounds please let me know, I waited too long pondering the cabins but decided to either camp or drive back most likely

Both Majestic Moose and Gray Squirrel are full, but there may still be cabins at Golden Bear Cottages and Cabins 4 Less which are both nearby. If you're looking for a tent camping site, those are handled by the forest service so I have no visibility into them. There are tons of hotels and AirB&B's up there, even a Motel 6 if you're trying to keep the price low.

Yeah I’m hoping to tent camp

I rented a house on airbnb so I am good there. Looking for somewhere to park our 2 tow rigs and trailers. Any suggestions?
